MORE INFO

As a live iteration, What Not to Wear Out My Soul  is a site-specific video installation and live music performance. The piece combines material recorded during training sessions with Method Acting coach Tilly Blackwood (The Audition Doctor) and on location shots in Walthamstow shops. Theobald’s 2-channel video installation moves between staged situations and live video feed to explore the performance of everyday life, ambition, consumption, the concept of ‘buyer’s remorse’, and the phycological impact popular TV makeover shows such as Queer Eye, What Not To Wear and Streetmate has on our collective psyche.

Performers Alice Theobald, Penny Klein and Thomas Stone
Dialogue developed in collaboration with Tilly Blackwood (Audition Doctor)
Soundtrack and lyrics written by Alice Theobald and developed in collaboration with Thomas Stone and Penny Klein
